Continue uninterrupted chest compressions while applying chest pads (until ready for a rhythm check).
- Call “Compressions continue – stand clear” as you charge defibrillator and remove free-flowing oxygen (and confirm all but compressor are standing clear)
- Once charged, call “hands off” (rescuer stands clear and places both hands in the air making eye contact and saying “I’m safe“)
- Confirm / check rhythm ⇒ ± 200 J shock ideally within 5 seconds
Immediately resume chest compressions (30:2 for 2 minutes). Do not interrupt compressions until rhythm check (unless obvious signs of ROSC).
